Ceremonial Cocoa

Floral, reforestation-driven ceremonial cacao from Nicaragua—stone-milled for a delicate, perfumed ritual cup. VAICACAO® Ceremonial Cacao Masaya – Nicaragua is a 100% pure cacao paste drink crafted from stone-ground cacao beans—nothing added, nothing taken away. Sourced from the Ingemann project and worked with a light roast to protect its rose and jasmine aromatics.

Why it’s special

  • Single ingredient: Stone-ground cacao beans only—no sweeteners, flavors, emulsifiers, or thickeners.
  • Reforestation at scale: Together with its producers, the Ingemann project has planted more than one million cacao trees, strengthening local ecosystems.
  • A network of over 1,000 producers: Founded in 2007 by Niels Ingemann Møller, the project builds agronomic knowledge and long-term value with small Nicaraguan farmers.
  • Exceptional post-harvest care: Fermentation and drying are managed on site with the precision that gives this cacao its floral signature.

Taste profile

Delicate and perfumed with a clean, elegant body—the most floral cup in the range.

  • Aromatic notes: Rose, jasmine, vanilla, pronounced floral character
  • Bitter intensity: Medium
  • Presentation: 180 g and 400 g blocks (natural white spots from cacao butter are a sign of purity)

Origin & traceability

This cacao is grown in the Región Autónoma de la Costa Caribe Sur, a very humid tropical area rich in natural shade, with abundant rainfall and low altitudes—ideal conditions for cacao. It comes from Ingemann, an agricultural project founded in Nicaragua in 2007 that has built a network of more than a thousand small producers around sustainable agroforestry.

  • Processing: Slowly stone-ground

Why pure cacao

Pure cacao paste is very different from common cocoa drinks or industrial cocoa powder: it uses the whole bean, never defatted, alkalized, or diluted with other ingredients. It therefore keeps the fats, fibre and micronutrients naturally present in the seed, along with minerals such as magnesium and potassium and plant compounds including theobromine and tryptophan. For centuries in Mesoamerican cultures, cacao was valued not only as a food but as a drink to nourish body and spirit—a small daily ritual, a moment to slow down and reconnect with presence.

How to prepare your ritual

Melt gently to preserve aroma and properties. Enjoy with hot water or a plant-based beverage, and personalize with spices if desired.

  • Chop about 20 g of cacao.
  • Heat 150–180 ml of water or a plant-based drink—hot, but never boiling.
  • Melt slowly and whisk/stir until smooth.
  • Optional: infuse with chamomile or lavender instead of plain water, breathe deeply, set an intention, and sip slowly.

Directions for use

  • Suggested dose: 15–20 g for daily use; up to 30 g for ceremonial sessions.
  • Hydration: Drink water before and after each dose to aid absorption.
  • Consultation: Cacao naturally contains theobromine. Consult a doctor if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, or have uncontrolled blood pressure.
