Leone
The history of LEONE began in 1857 in Piedmont, in the small town of Neive near Alba. Here, Luigi Leone began to produce small, fragrant pastilles with mint, cinnamon and cloves in his father's tavern - a light "digestive" designed to delight loyal customers after a meal. From the first days, the LEONE brand was united by Italian traditions and precise craftsmanship. And the principles of production remained unchanged for many decades, preserving its authentic character. Later, after opening a store in Turin, LEONE sweets quickly won the hearts of the city's sweet tooth, and the brand became the official supplier of the Royal House of Savoy. Production also moved to Turin - here, businesswoman Giselda Balla Monero boldly invested in advertising, new packaging design and production development, demonstrating an exceptional industrial vision at the time. Today, LEONE continues to be an innovative and surprising confectionery company not only in Italy, where it is the best-selling pastille brand (NielsenIQ, 2022), but also internationally - from major European cities to Japan and the USA.
