Ceremonial Cocoa

Spiced, river-fed ceremonial cacao from Tabasco, Mexico—stone-milled for a soft, warmly aromatic ritual cup. VAICACAO® Ceremonial Cacao Cunduacán – Mexico is a 100% pure cacao paste drink crafted from stone-ground cacao beans—nothing added, nothing taken away. Grown in the Chontalpa region among four rivers and worked with a light roast to keep its vanilla and cinnamon aromatics intact.

Why it’s special

  • Single ingredient: Stone-ground cacao beans only—no sweeteners, flavors, emulsifiers, or thickeners.
  • Ancestral varieties: Grown by a network of small producers in the Chontalpa region cultivating cacao varieties native to Mesoamerica.
  • An exceptional microclimate: Four rivers and numerous lagoons, including the Samaria Cunduacán aquifer, create ideal growing conditions at just 20 m above sea level.
  • Short supply chain: Purchased through Crafting Markets, which pays Revival Cacao directly.

Taste profile

Soft and warmly spiced with a gentle body—sweet baking-spice aromatics with a quiet tobacco depth underneath.

  • Aromatic notes: Spices, vanilla, cinnamon, tobacco
  • Bitter intensity: Medium–low
  • Presentation: 180 g and 400 g blocks (natural white bloom from cacao butter is a sign of purity)

Why pure cacao

Pure cacao paste is very different from common cocoa drinks or industrial cocoa powder: it uses the whole bean, never defatted, alkalized, or diluted with other ingredients. It therefore keeps the fats, fibre and micronutrients naturally present in the seed, along with minerals such as magnesium and potassium and plant compounds including theobromine and tryptophan. For centuries in Mesoamerican cultures, cacao was valued not only as a food but as a drink to nourish body and spirit—a small daily ritual, a moment to slow down and reconnect with presence.

How to prepare your ritual

Melt gently to preserve aroma and properties. Enjoy with hot water or a plant-based beverage, and personalize with spices if desired.

  • Chop about 20 g of cacao.
  • Heat 150–180 ml of water or a plant-based drink—hot, but never boiling.
  • Melt slowly and whisk/stir until smooth.
  • Optional: add cinnamon or ginger, breathe deeply, set an intention, and sip slowly.

Directions for use

  • Suggested dose: 15–20 g for daily use; up to 30 g for ceremonial sessions.
  • Hydration: Drink water before and after each dose to aid absorption.
  • Consultation: Cacao naturally contains theobromine. Consult a doctor if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, or have uncontrolled blood pressure.
